A securities class action has been filed against National Lampoon, Inc. (NLMP) (the "Company") on behalf of all securities purchasers from March 1, 2008 through December 15, 2008, inclusive ("Class Period"), in the United States District Court for the Central District of California.
The complaint alleges that among other things, that defendants masterminded and perpetrated an illegal scheme to manipulate the Company's stock price. The purpose of the scheme was to inflate the price of the Company's stock so that the Company a) could avoid removal from the American Stock Exchange (AMEX, now known as the NYSE Alternext) for failure to meet the minimum price-per-share requirement; and b) could more easily and inexpensively acquire other companies and attract business partners.
