Summary of Case:
A securities class action has been filed against NYSE- Arca or CME/COMEX Exchange- Traded Silver Bar Financial Instruments (SIVR, SLV) on behalf of all securities purchasers from March 1, 2008 through present. The case has been filed in the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois.
The claims arise from Defendants' manipulation and restraints of trade in connection with the market for United States exchange-traded financial instruments backed by silver bars that are deliverable on the London Bullion Market Association ("LBMA") and against the silver futures contract traded on the COMEX and GLOBEX platforms of the CME Group, Inc. The complaint alleges that during the Class Period, Defendants conspired to intentionally, unlawfully and artificially suppress, and have in fact intentionally, unlawfully and artificially suppressed, the prices of exchange-traded silver bar financial instruments.
